Settings Configuration

The settings page allows you to customize your experience with SourceTraq based on your integration with specific repositories. You can access the settings by clicking the settings icon located in the top right corner, right beside the date range picker. This ensures that your configurations are tailored to each integration you have established.

Each setting can have a significant impact on the data being pulled and the app's overall performance. Here are the available settings that you can adjust:

Basic Metrics Configuration

  • Include Author-wise Commits:This option allows you to decide whether to display metrics regarding individual commits related to each author. Enabling this setting pulls detailed commit data for every author, enhancing individual performance tracking. If you choose not to include this, the tool may process faster as it reduces the number of network calls made.
  • Include PR Activity Metrics:This setting specifies if you want to view metrics associated with pull request activities. Activating this option enables the tool to fetch detailed statistics on each pull request activity, while disabling it improves performance by minimizing data retrieval.
  • Include PR Commit Metrics:Enable this option if you wish to retrieve additional commit-related metrics for each pull request. This can provide deeper insights into how commits are associated with pull request activities, but may also increase the load time if not needed.

Review Change Metrics Configuration

  • No Changes Shown:Selecting this option will result in no comparison data being fetched, providing you only with the current metrics. This can lead to quicker data display, beneficial for fast reviews.
  • Include Previous Period:By activating this setting, you allow the app to pull additional data for the previous reporting period. While this brings more comprehensive insights by allowing for percentage change display, it can potentially impact performance due to the increased data retrieval.

Commits Change Metrics Configuration

  • No Changes Shown:Similar to the review setting, enabling this option means that only current commit metrics will be displayed, omitting any background comparison, which can make for a faster and cleaner interface.
  • Include Previous Period:This setting retrieves additional data from previous periods to allow for a comparative analysis of commit metrics. Activating this option can increase the depth of your insights, but may also affect speed and performance depending on the volume of data.

Please note that these settings are integration-specific and need to be configured for each integration you set up in SourceTraq. This level of customization is designed to ensure that your experience is optimized according to your specific requirements and the repositories you are working with.
